Jörn-Peter Hiekel

Jörn-Peter Hiekel has been teaching and researching at the Dresden University of Music since 2003 as professor of musicology as well as director of the Institute for New Music. He has long been a lecturer at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music, has been on the board of the Institute for New Music and Music Education Darmstadt since 2004, and has been a lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts since 2009, as well as a member of the Saxon Academy of the Arts. He has published numerous books, especially on the music of the 20th/21st century. After studying musicology and double bass, Jörn-Peter Hiekel first worked as an editor and author for the publishing house Breitkopf & Härtel and for various media (including FAZ).
